ELIGIBILITY
Boys must be at least First Class Scouts with at least 15 days and nights of camping during the previous two years. This must include one (and only one) long term campout (6 days and 5 nights).
Adults must meet the same camping requirements as youth.

NOMINATION
Nominations are held once a year around April and are overseen by at least two members of the OA not from the troop. The youth vote in a secret ballot. A youth must receive more than 50% of the votes to be nominated. Results of the nomination process remain secret. If at least two youth are nominated, one adult leader may also be nominated.

CALL OUT
Once nominated, the nominees must attend an OA ceremony and be "called out". (Remember that individuals do not know they were nominated until they are "called out".) OA ceremonies are usually held at summer camp and Camp-o-rees.

ORDEAL
Once nominees have been "called out", they must participate in a weekend "ordeal" to become members.
