Religious Thoughts

Our Troop is chartered by the St. Pius X Catholic Church Men's Club. For more information on what they do for the troop see this page - Troop Sponsor. For more information on our patron saint see this page St. Pius X.

The patron saint of Scouting is St. George. His feast day is celebrated on April 23.
Recently, there have been much interest in Angels. There have been movies, television shows, books, magazines, and jewelry about Angels. The feast day of the Guardian Angel is celebrated on October 2.

The Catholic Church has two religious medals which Scout may earn. The Ad Altari Dei and the St. Pius XII. We encourage all Scouts to earn the religious medal of their faith.

Here is a site that can help you locate a Catholic Church on your route or near your destination.

Checkout the New Advent Catholic Website for the Catholic Encyclopedia.

Checkout the Catholic Information Network for Mass readings and saints of the day.
