We've all heard it before, an athlete giving "110 percent."

Let's take a realistic view at this.

There are 168 hours in a week. You probably spend about 8 hours per day sleeping, that's 56 hours. Another 8 hours five days a week working or going to school, that's 40 more hours. And you spend maybe two hours per day eating, that's 14 hours. That leaves 58 hours for you to do other things.

How much of your time is spent with God? Include in this time, church services and time you spend in prayer or studying the Bible. You can also include in this, the time that you spend helping others because whenever you help others, you are helping God.

If you spend one hour a week, that's about 2 percent.

If you spend two hours a week, that's almost 4 percent.

Six hours a week would be about 10 percent.

Are you giving the time to God that He deserves? After all, He should be THE most important thing in your life. Remember the first commandment? "I am the Lord your God, you shall not have strange gods before me."

If you spend more time doing "other things," is this not putting something else before God?

What can you do to spend more time with God every day, every week?

Now go give God the time He deserves!
