Make a ball of clay and flatten to less than 1/4". Make a small stem and attach it by pushing it against the pumpkin and painting with water. Use a wet toothpick to draw lines on the pumpkin. Use a stick or pencil to make the mouth. Allow to thoroughly dry, then paint.
