I like to carry several types of identification for different purposes.

The most important one is an emergency ID. It contains my name, address, phone number, emergency contact and their phone number(s), and any information important that first responders should know such as medical conditions, medicines you are taking, and allergies. You can even have it laminated for extra protection.

I also carry cards to hand out to other runners that I might meet and need to get in touch with later. One has my name and phone number, another has my name and email address.

Since I frequently mention information from this website, I also carry a card with the name and address of this site.

Business cards are pretty easy to make and print out. Avery™ makes sheets of perforated business cards and Microsoft Word™ can be used to format your information. Or you can simply print the information out on a page and cut it to the desired size, it doesn’t have to be the size of a business card.

Carry the cards in a small ziploc bag to protect them from sweat and moisture.
