So you've decided to take up running and are looking for information to help you learn more about it and improve your performance.

What I’ve tried to assemble here are helpful hints and best practices. My goals are to:
* Present them in a concise format,
* Keep it simple, clear, and easy to understand, and
* Explain not only what to do or not do, but the reasons behind it.

I'm not trying to sell books, programs, memberships, or anything else. I do this because I enjoy running and helping others enjoy it. My hope is that the information here will help you enjoy running and become as passionate about it as I am and become lifelong runners.

Mark Twain once said, "Good judgement is the result of experience and experience the result of bad judgement."

My purpose is to help other runners, especially beginning runners, learn from my mistakes and from the things I've learned from other runners and coaches and research so they can have a more enjoyable running experience. But be warned that what works for me, may not work for you. I encourage you to experiment on your own body. Even if something is working, learn from others, and try to find something better.

Feel free to browse the topics below or read it as a book using the "Back" and "Next" arrows near the top of the page. I would appreciate hearing from you if you have comments or suggestions. You can email me at vhale@e-scoutcraft.com

Note that every page has an 'Updated' date just below the title. As I learn new things I'll update the appropriate pages and change this date. For your convenience, there is also a handy Log of Updates to Site page which has a chronological record of the pages I change and add.

I have no affiliation with any of the products mentioned on these pages.
